Seattle has long been a hotbed of creative glass artisans with the most famous of them all probably being Dale Chihuly. I came across another great artisan glass company in Seattle recently by the name of Glassworks. Glassworks has been producing fused, slumped, and cast glass commisions for over thirty years. They recently completed a kitchen project for a client that included a one and one half inch thick fused glass counter applied to the entire kitchen. The look is thouroghly modern without looking cold.

Glassworks also produces some striking bath basins such as the double trough below.

And while I'm not ususally drawn to the more ornate designs, their waterfall basin is quite beatiful. It is remeniscent of a modern day Renee Lalique creation.
