The Shower Cube

Lacquer & glass combine to create the ultimate personal spa retreat.

The personal spa is something that we are begining to see more and more in the US market. Manufacturers such as Bain Ultra, Hansgrohe, and others are marketing self contained systems that incorporate a shower system, steam unit, chromotherapy lighting, and an aromatherapy system. A lesser known firm - Kos of Italy, has created the sexiest version of the personal spa retreat that we have seen. Part of their Floyd line, the shower cube aims to stand as an independent architectural feature in any bath. The cube can be fitted with any number of different shower fixtures, such as body sprays, hand showers and downpour shower heads. The cube features an integrated bench seat for luxuriating in the shower.

The cube also includes an integrated chromotherapy lighting system, Idrocolor, which allows the user to change the ambient color in the cube. Every color is said to have a specific beneficial effect on the user's psychophysical well-being.

The cube offers function and design in a stiking package. It may be a bit too much for the American market as a whole. However, I think that it sets the design bar for today's modern bath.
