Pritzker in the Kitchen
Italian kitchen manufacturer Ernestomeda teamed up with Pritzker winning architect Zaha Hadid to design the kitchen of tomorrow.

The Z Island is a collaboration between Hadid, Ernestomeda and Dupont using modern materials to create a new architectural language in the kitchen. The island integrates new concepts in cooks tools along with a strong visual statement that challenges the traditional shape of the kitchen island.

The use of new materials by Dupont is heavily emphasized in the sculptural nature of the island itself. The island seems to balance on a "keel" of sorts. While I find the design intriguing, it feels a bit too much much like a prop from Woody Allen's movie - The Sleeper. Comments on this one?
